Many prospective graduates concern about the 485 visa but are unaware of 485 visa fee. This article will list some fee applying for a 485 visa as a single applicant.
Total Application Fee Breakdown
- Visa Application Fee: For a single, 485 visa fee is AUD 2,300. After adding the mandatory credit card fee, it totals AUD 2,332.20.
- Visa Medical Examination Fee: Generally, the health examination costs around AUD 400. However, the DHA may request additional health checks for some applicants. If so, extra cost will apply.
- Overseas Visitor Health Cover: Just like the OSHC during the student visa period, OVHC is also a mandatory requirement for visas. However, unlike OSHC, OVHC does not require a one-time payment and can be paid monthly. The monthly fees range from AUD 70 to AUD 130, depending on individual needs. AAS provides multiple insurance packages from different insurance companies for applicants to choose from.
Australian National Police Check Application Fee: The fee is around AUD 56. Many DIY applicants make mistakes at this step, leading to refusals. This is actually one of the most common reasons for refusals.
- IELTS / PTE / Other English Test: Currently, the English test results validity for the 485 visa is 1 year. It means applicants will need to take English test and obtain the required result before applying the visa. The cost will be AUD 475 (for IELTS and PTE).
