Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa allows skilled people nominated by a state or territory government to live and work in regional Australia.
Most locations of Australia outside major cities (Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane) are classified as designated regional areas for migration purposes.
Requirement:
- Be nominated by State or Territory Government or sponsored by eligible relative
- Occupation is on the skilled occupation lists (Short-term Skilled Occupation List / Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List / Regional Occupational List)
- Have a suitable skills assessment
- Age under 45
- Competent English level (eg at least 6.0 for each part in IELTS)
- Scored 65 points or more (including 15 points from state or territory government nomination)
- Satisfy with state or territory government requirement
- Meet Health and Character requirements
- Submitted EOI(Expression of interest), and be invited
How to be nominated by states?
All state and territory government agencies have their own criteria for deciding who they will nominate, and in most cases, it requires related working experience, and for some occupations, additional conditions are required. It is important to know about different states nomination criteria and requirements.
